Classic and Sweet in Hawaii

This lovely wedding held in the stunning, tropical setting of Ko Olina, Hawaii was anything but tropical! A classic style, delicate flowers, a pink and blue color scheme, and strings of Italian Bistro lights strung over the dining area combined to create a romantic and magical evening. Floral designs included fragrant freesia and lilac, lush garden roses and peonies, and delicate hydrangea and ranunclus.  The sweet fragrance from the flowers filled the air and was intoxicating!

 

 

 

The bride carried an all white bouquet of garden roses, ranunculus, lilac, sweet pea, and freesia.

The Looking Glass

By far, the Looking Glass shoot in the newly released issue of Pacific Weddings was our favorite editorial shoot to design!  So soft and romantic, and unique in that the floral focus was not on the table but hanging directly over it.  We look forward to the day we are able to recreate this design concept for a bride and groom!

Junko and Oscar

One of my favorite weddings from 2009 is Junko and Oscar's October wedding at Lanikuhonua.  I love the romantic and lush petaled flowers in a warm raspberry shade of pink.  Garden roses, hybrid ranunculus, hydrangea and dahlias all in deep pink were used in every design.  These delicate flowers held up well even on one of the hottest days of the year!  

Junko chose a softer shade of pink for her bouquet.  Wood pedestal bowls filled with garden roses and dahlias lined the ceremony aisle.  A wood ceremony arch was draped in sheer ivory fabric and accented with raspberry pink flowers.  

 

Fifty-five guests joined Junko and Oscar and dined on one long table under a cloud-like tent.  Crystal chandeliers hung from each peak over the dining table.   A pattern of espresso brown flowers on an ivory linen dressed the dining table, while a sea of raspberry-pink arrangements danced across the table top over aqua-blue runners.

Yvonne, I don't even know where to start...everything was perfect!  You just created what I dreamed of and even more! I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Oscar and I want to THANK YOU and your team for making our wedding the most fabulous, chic and gorgeous wedding ever!!! OMG! I'm not even joking but my jaw did drop all the way to the ground when I first saw our ceremony decor and then reception area and the table decor!!! Everything was perfection. I know I had a vision in my head but it was 100 times better than I could have ever imagined! Yvonne, you completely nailed it and made everything come to the reality.

 I could just keep going on and on about how fabulous your work was! Our wedding was beyond our expectation and we were just so glad that we were able to give our guests the experience that they could never had neither in Japan nor in New York.  It was so unique and personal... 

I just wanted to tell you how much we appreciated all your hard work and felt blessed to have you be a part of our wedding day!

 

 
 

 

Lisa and Steven, Lana'i Wedding

As promised, here are the photos taken by the gifted photographers, Christiaan and Lexi Phleger!  

Steven and Lisa were married in the very charming Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lana'i City.  Lisa carried a bouquet of cascading phalaenopsis orchids.  

 

The bride and groom are the first to arrive the reception so that they can take in and enjoy every detail before guests arrive.

The reception took place on the lush Luau Grounds at the Four Seasons at Manele Bay on the tiny island of Lana'i.

Soft amber lighting illuminated the dining canopy as over 150 candles glowed through out the night.  Subtle pink lighting highlighted palm trees surrounding the guests.

Aqua and Pink

YD just returned from a destination wedding on Lana'i where we spent three days preparing this detailed wedding for 55 guests.  Guests dined under a bamboo canopy dripping swarovski crystals as sheer white fabric enclosed this intimate dining area.  The sweet fragrance of hyacinth filled the air as they accented the 54 foot table landscape of hydrangea, roses, cymbidium orchids, and calla lilies, combined with tall glass cylinders holding floating candles.   Manzanita branches added dimension to the table as they twisted their way around the cylinders and delicate flowers. Lovely white linen hemstitch napkins accented with a pink cymbidium rested on white iridescent chargers. A custom 2-sided bar with aqua-blue panels featured refreshing signature cocktails.

Unique Tropical Centerpiece

For a small, intimate wedding in Kahala, the bride requested a tropical centerpiece as this was a destination wedding for her and her guests. The bride's additional request was that we create something unique that incorporated natural elements as well as different textures.  Each centerpiece included three carved mango wood bowls filled with ginger, cymbidium orchids and anthurium. For additional texture we added roses, amaranthus, seeded eucalyptus and moss.   The monstera leaves created a dramatic contrast and emphasized the tropical theme.  

 

Candes and Milan - Part 2

Candes and Milan's Wedding was truly the epitomy of romance and elegance. The choices for florals created more than just beautiful arrangements.  Implementing fragrant herbs (mint, thyme, rosemary) and tuberose, raspberry vines and pink cymbidiums, delicate garden roses and ranunculus, these arrangements were simply breathtaking.

A dramatic 50' wall of crystals sparkled throughout the night.

 

Custom dupioni silk table linens in antique gold covered the U shaped table.  

Dripping amaranthus added a luxurious texture to the arrangements.

Sandblasted driftwood dripped crystal strands that sparkled in the candlelight. 

 

Hundreds of candles in antique gold and pink candleholders lit the dining table.

Pink cymbidium orchids and baby succulents accented the antique candleholders on each cocktail table.

Lighting created a warm and intimate setting for the guests.  

Five crystal chandeliers hung over the dining table with a large chandelier centered over the dance floor.

 

Bronze candleabras accented the escort card table.

Sheer champagne rose fabric draped the tent legs as amber lighting cast a soft opulant glow.

 

Spectacular crystal chandeliers lit up the night in the clear top tent.

Candes and Milan - Part 1

Candes and Milan chose the beautiful Four Seasons at Manele Bay on Lana`i for their wedding this fall.  We are always excited for the opportunity to design a wedding on Lana`i, and this was a special event with gorgeous decor and details.

 

The bridal bouquet

A cascading bouquet of pink phalaenopsis orchids, ivory cymbidium orchids, and pale pink roses. 

Each ivory cymbidium was accented with a diamond and pearl.

 

Ring Pineapple

The bride requested this unique ring holder in lieu of a pillow.  We loved this detail!

Gold trays filled with pink roses for guests to toss lined the aisle.
