Sophisticated in Ko Olina

It was such a pleasure to collaborate with Finishing Touch in creating this wonderfully sophisticated and detailed wedding.  Set in Ko Olina at the Lanikuhonua Estate, the perfect combination of land and sea were utilized and worked together to act as a beautiful setting for this special day.  This is truly an event to remember!

The bride carried a bouquet of phalaenopsis and lady slipper orchids accented with garden roses, stephanotis and freesia for fragrance.

For this stunning natural setting, we constructed a ceremony canopy out of pieces of driftwood.  Phalaenopsis orchids dripped down each leg of the canopy.  

 

Guests passed through a cylinder lined pathway.  Each cylinder was filled with phalaenopsis orchids while white dendrobium orchids accented the base of each cylinder in a curving pattern.

 

Cocktail hour was set by the ocean side so guests could view the spectacular sunset.  

Phalaenopsis orchids cascaded down each corner of the dining table while each leg of the dining canopy was embellished with orchid blooms.  The work of Naomi and her team at Les Saisons was spectacular! They added such an elegant touch with their custom beaded linen and chiffon chair covers.

A beautiful cake by Cake Lava and elegant stationery by Bradley & Lily.

Debuting at this wedding is Mood's newest canopy.  Rich, dark wood with thick, sleek pieces give this canopy a gorgeous modern feel.

Jennifer and Ryan

A summer wedding at Lanikuhonua turned out to be a glorious day after morning showers threatened to put a damper on an outdoor wedding.   Yes, it does rain in Hawaii even in the middle of August so always have a back up plan! 

I really enjoyed the decor for Jennifer and Ryan's wedding.  It was rather simple, yet quite striking due to the color scheme and large focal flowers.  White was accented with bold yellow and black to give this wedding a chic and modern aesthetic.  

  

Jennifer carried an all white bouquet of hydrangea, roses, ranunculus, and phalaenopsis orchids.  

 

Lush arrangements set on tall black pedestals created a ceremony focal point.  I just love the way the yellow pops from the black chiavari chairs!

 

Large yellow mums embellished each napkin and accented the water station and lounge tables.  I love the playfulness of this flower!  Guests dined on one long table under an all white canopy draped with sheer fabric.  (This is another option for you if you are looking for a canopy but do not want to use wood or bamboo. Check out our new website, MOOD, to view the types of canopies available. )

 

Jennifer had a mixture of designs on her table from submerged roses or phalaenopsis orchids to full floral arrangements, along with different heights of glass vases filled with water and a floating candle.  A great way to add color and dimension to the table is to wrap the vases with a band of ribbon.  Create a little height by using floating candles in tall vases.

I just wanted to tell you that the design aspect of my wedding was EVERYTHING I dreamed of and more.  Everything was EXACTLY to how I envisioned it and was beyond beautiful.  I can tell you that every single one of my guests were amazed and their mouths dropped when they saw the layout.  It was a stressful day, full of mixed emotions with the hurricane issues but once I saw the design, all the stress just seemed to disappear and I was SOOO happy! Everyone kept saying to me throughout the night,  this is soooo beautiful!  The ceremony decor was exactly what I wanted,  displays were amazing.  Honestly, they were as if you took a photo of what I was thinking in my head and made it happen.

My experience has been amazing from the start with your company.  Ally has been so accommodating with all my changes and so patient to really make sure my vision was passed on to you.  She always made me feel like I was a priority.  Nicole as well, spending time to ensure every single item was exactly the way I wanted them to be and making suggestions to create my exact vision.  I also appreciate your assistance in this busy time of the year to keep me in the loop and really make my vision a success.  I know I was not the easiest of brides but I sincerely appreciate your willingness to accommodate with my last minute changes during your busy season.  

I could go on and on but I will end with this simple statement.:

You made my wedding day AMAZING.  My family, my new husband and I will never forget how amazingly beautiful it was and we truly appreciate you for creating our 100% PERFECT wedding day decor!

Details! Details!

It's the little details at weddings that get me so excited.  Dazzling chargers, unique place card holders, funky napkin accents, fine stationery, unexpected floral embellishments, luxurious throw pillows.... there are so many little details that can make your wedding truly unique and your guests feeling so special.  Here are some fun details a few of our clients incorporated into their wedding.  

Capiz shells are an elegant way to incorporate a beach theme into your wedding.  The centerpiece base, chargers, and place card holders are all made from capiz shells.  Stacey of Bradley & Lily created the place cards as well as the stunning table numbers. The floral accent on each chair back is so adorable!

Tropical Elegance was the theme for this wedding. With the color scheme being pre-dominantly green, white was the accent along with elements such as koa wood, bamboo, and crystals.  Uncommon Envelope created the beautiful menus and place cards on the chair backs.

Not a single detail was overlooked at this fuchsia wedding.  With orchids being the only flower used, they could be found accenting every area from the crystal chandeliers to the champagne glasses.  Emi Ink designed the gorgeous stationery with the orchid and butterfly motif, which was also projected onto the dance floor in fuchsia lights.

Such an elegant and formal wedding!  Guests found their seat from the elegant place cards displayed in silver frames.  Romantic lighting through hanging crystal chandeliers and floating candlelight created an intimate and formal dining experience.  Menus embellished with green crystals were placed on striking white chargers.

Glamorous and sophisticated details created a luxurious atmosphere for this wedding.  Marble chargers, dupioni silk fabric draping, Tiffany favors, thick textured linens with organza overlays, organza and silk chair covers, gardenia table accents... such an extraordinary wedding with the finest of details!

Ann and Mark

Ann and Mark were such a sweet couple!  Their wedding decor was perfectly appropriate for their personalities....sweet, innocent, understated, yet detailed, exquisite, and refined.  An elegant color scheme of white was accented with celadon green.  Just a hint of fuchsia was introduced but enough to make a statement.  Orchids were the feature flower for Ann and Mark's timeless outdoor wedding. 

  

 

White phalaenopsis orchids with fuchsia throats were the highlight of the dining tables, as green cymbidium orchids accented.  Canopies draped in soft white fabric created an intimate dining space for each guest table.

  

Amber lights illuminated the dining canopies to create a soft, warm glow similar to this remarkable sunset.

Christina and Brian

You may already be familiar with Christina and Brian's wedding if you have visited Finishing Touch's blog in the past few weeks.  The details (and the photography!) were just so fabulous that I had to share even more photos with you!  Yes, another Lanikuhonua wedding ;), but Christina and Brian's wedding was quite unique due to the dark wood canopies covered in soft spring green silk and the L-shaped floor plan that wrapped around the dance floor.  

I truly loved this color scheme of magenta, fuchsia, plum, mauve and green.  The colors were so rich and the decor was so luxurious!  We used orchids (mokara, cymbidium and phalaenopsis), roses, calla lilies, stock, and hydrangea in all of the designs, and incorporated ostrich feathers and swarovski crystals throughout the ceremony and reception.   Gorgeous runners were custom made for the guest tables and the same material (flown in from Spain!)  covered the sweetheart table.

Lisa and Steven, Lana'i Wedding

As promised, here are the photos taken by the gifted photographers, Christiaan and Lexi Phleger!  

Steven and Lisa were married in the very charming Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Lana'i City.  Lisa carried a bouquet of cascading phalaenopsis orchids.  

 

The bride and groom are the first to arrive the reception so that they can take in and enjoy every detail before guests arrive.

The reception took place on the lush Luau Grounds at the Four Seasons at Manele Bay on the tiny island of Lana'i.

Soft amber lighting illuminated the dining canopy as over 150 candles glowed through out the night.  Subtle pink lighting highlighted palm trees surrounding the guests.

Aqua and Pink

YD just returned from a destination wedding on Lana'i where we spent three days preparing this detailed wedding for 55 guests.  Guests dined under a bamboo canopy dripping swarovski crystals as sheer white fabric enclosed this intimate dining area.  The sweet fragrance of hyacinth filled the air as they accented the 54 foot table landscape of hydrangea, roses, cymbidium orchids, and calla lilies, combined with tall glass cylinders holding floating candles.   Manzanita branches added dimension to the table as they twisted their way around the cylinders and delicate flowers. Lovely white linen hemstitch napkins accented with a pink cymbidium rested on white iridescent chargers. A custom 2-sided bar with aqua-blue panels featured refreshing signature cocktails.

Hayley and Ben

Hayley and Ben's wedding celebration took place at Four Seasons at Manele Bay on Lanai over two years ago. We still receive calls and emails weekly about this wedding as so many couples use this as inspiration for their own wedding.  Since there were so many details to this wedding {and absolutely incredible photos by Kevin Lubera....Joe Buissink was the photographer for this wedding but Kevin was assisting him} that are not on our website, we thought we'd share them with you. 

What an amazing job Pacific Aisles did planning this wedding!  Not a single detail was overlooked. 

The gorgeous stationery was created by the very talented Maggie of Uncommon Envelope.
